Maybe you’ve been thinking about Invisalign® ( take a free smile assessment test) but, you are not sure about the process. How long does it take? Will it inconvenience you? Does it involve a treatment plan you can commit to? Read on to learn the step-by-step process you can expect when you choose Invisalign®.

The Treatment Process

  1. Talk to Drs. Riccolo and Swade, your Invisalign® providers.

Both of our doctors are experienced Invisalign® providers and are trained to evaluate your needs and determine how Invisalign® can help you. Invisalign® is not always the right choice for every situation and our doctors will help you find the right treatment for you.

  1. A customized treatment plan is created.

Invisalign® uses incremental transparent aligners to adjust teeth. X-rays, pictures, and impressions are made of your teeth. These pictures and impressions are used to create a 3-D digital image. The doctor will be able to map out the path of movement needed to shift your teeth into their desired position and tell you approximately how long it will take for the aligners to finish their job.

  1. Get your customized aligners.

Invisalign® uses incremental transparent aligners to adjust teeth. A computerized model suggests stages between the current position of your teeth and the desired position. Clear aligners are created for each stage. These will gradually shift your teeth into the correct position. These comfortable aligners are BPA-free and won’t irritate your teeth or gums.

  1. Follow your treatment plan.

Every two weeks or so your will switch to the next aligner in the progressive series. For the quickest and best results you should wear your aligners for 20 to 22 hours every day. They can be removed to brush, floss and eat. Our doctor will see you about every six weeks and monitor your progress.

  1. Smile!

Approximately 12 months later you are done with your treatment and have a stunning, straight smile that you will love to share.
